Contact us
Tell us your iPhone model, iOS version and PocketVault version (Settings › About). Never send your password, recovery words or vault files; we will never ask for them.
Forgot your password or pattern
- On the lock screen, tap Recover.
- Enter your 12 recovery words in order.
- Choose a new password.
No recovery words and no other way in? Then the vault can’t be opened, by you or by us. That’s the cost of real encryption, and why we ask you to write the words down on paper.
Moving to a new iPhone
- On your old iPhone, open PocketVault › Settings › Backup.
- Tap Back up to iCloud, or Save an encrypted
.pocketvault-backupfile to Files or a drive. Tap Check to verify a saved file. - On your new iPhone, install PocketVault and choose Restore on the welcome screen.
- Pick the iCloud snapshot or the file, then unlock with your password or recovery words.
- Using Plus? Turn on Sync afterwards in Settings if you want both iPhones to stay in step.
Repeat for each vault you want to bring across. Face ID is off after a restore; turn it on again in Settings.
Deleted the app?
Deleting PocketVault deletes the vault on that iPhone. iCloud backups you made stay in your iCloud until you remove them, and saved backup files stay wherever you put them. Reinstall, choose Restore, and unlock with your password or recovery words.
Removing originals from Photos
After you add from Photos, PocketVault checks the encrypted copy reads back correctly, then offers to delete the originals. Photos keeps deleted items in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days, so empty it if you want them gone now. If you use iCloud Photos, they’re removed there too.
PocketVault Plus & billing
- Restore Purchase: Settings › PocketVault Plus › Restore Purchase.
- Cancel yearly: iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions › PocketVault.
- Refunds: Apple handles them at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If Plus ends, nothing is deleted. You keep opening everything; you just can’t add past the free limits.
